Truth & Love

by Thec · June 30, 2025

I believe that it goes without saying that there is no truth without love and no love without truth. If a person has love in their life (notice I did not say “sex?” to occupy the space of “love.”) and if that love is returned there is a happy and satisfied two individuals. Without truth there cannot be love and love has many meanings not the least of which comes with a modicum of undestanding that we are all as imperfect as the next in line. If you have gotten your mind to accept this fact then you are open to truth and, therefore, love.

The baiting of one group against another is not stemming from love. Rather, it borders on, or crosses the line toward, hate. If we are all human beings then it is time to take stock of where we stand with ourselves and the rest of this imperfect human race. Borders don’t matter unless there are laws governing who can come into one nation or another. Breaking these, or any, laws is unclean, unhealthy in the mental and physical sense and is ungodly. God gave humanity it’s first laws and those can be boiled down to the above and the old saw, “Do no harm.” Sounds like a different planet in some distant nebula does it not?

I’ve been around since 1948 and I have seen more death than a person should see and delivered the same in war. One might think I am a dried up old crust of moldy bread by now but I found the truth. That has cleansed me and thus allowed me to think clearly for the first time in decades. I found the truth and know that this is the only truth, but I had to go to the doorway of hell to figure it out. Yeah, I escaped a self-inmposed death by booze about twelve years (and counting) ago. What that did was to clear the decks of tons or refuse from a life that never really got back on track after that war. Starting over is not easy and I had to relearn to walk, literally.

I come to you not as a pauper or a recalcitrant “do-gooder” but as a sober and thoughtful old man. I am not special in any way that would make me rich or famous or a wanna be friend to the population of the planet. Rather, I come as an old, worn, torn rag that you would probably throw away if you could. I’m not full of holes from bullets, I am full of holes from life lived dangerously for far too long. I am not tired of living because it feels to me like I just learned enough to do life correctly. Yeah, it takes some of us lot of misery, that we pull down on ourselves, to figure out that perfection only exists in one place and that is not this planet.

As I go here, I will publish some scripture that I love and that you should also learn to love. To begin, and if you have the heart to, read the book of Matthew 5-7. This is called, “The Sermon on the Mount.” After this read, again, Matthew 24 and see what that says about our times. These two readings are what saved my sorry derriere from extinguishment. They can help you more than you may think they can, if you are unfamiliar with them.
