It took more years than I would care to remember to understand this that I put here today. Science is a wonder indeed. I have nothng against science except that those who are of that vein do not think things through to the end. Instead, they stroke their beards and philosophize of their discoveries and consider how great are their minds. With their ego’s not in check they tell us that what they have discovered is of monumental importance to the future of mankind. This depends on which scientific discipline one is pursuing but the ego is what gets in the way of thinking things all the way to the final conclusion.
Heaven and Earth
As I stated, this took many years to fully understand but having figured this out I had to sit down and take a load off. “In the beginning was a void.” This comes straight from Genesis, the first book of the bible. God looked down at this void and then used it to create the universe. The rest, as is oft said, is history. A history that does not fit in science so the question then becomes: Isn’t science the discipline of man to try to figure out what God created and how He created it?
Put another way, Heaven was here before the universe because that is where God lives and what we have as the universe was a void; nothing existed in that void. I suppose you could then call the void that existed “the canvas,” upon which God painted our universe. Figuratively speaking, mind you. Some call this “Christian Science.” I call it hard fought understanding through pursuit of the wonder that is our Creator.
Why?
Why do I write this now, today? I do so because it is the way I chose to understand the foibles of science. I studied so much science in college that I spent decades basking in the knowledge of how science says things work and this includes Carbon 14 dating and sciences dating of history. I listened to science, read the bible and came across this thought: What is one day for God. He, the bible tells us, created the Earth and the universe in six days. On the seventh day, He rested. Were these the same twenty-four hour days that He imposed on the earth or were these His days? If they were His days and the first day and night composed one day on Earth how long are God’s days?
It doesn’t sound like His day and our day measure the same as eternity kind of eliminates days and nights. I write this to let you know how badly some people quote the bible, God’s word, and disseminate half thought out ideas that are not based on understanding the full scope of what the bible endeavors to tell us. There is much, much more to each word of the bible than a “casual” reading of it allows. Love, study and thought leads to God. Casual reading can lead to confusion. There is ever so much we need to learn so as to treat one another with love and respect. The first lesson is that we are quite small yet so loved by He who created us. Why else would He have spent so much time to have the bible written; allowing us glimpses into His way of thinking?
