Nobody told anybody that the bible was easy to understand. This should have been the first sentence I wrote here months ago. It becomes even more difficult if one has not begun to read the bible until they are an adult and having fun, or misery, in this world. Money creates fun and not having enough money creates misery. That is the long and short of this world and always has been and, yes, it really is this simple. Some do cope without money better than others if they have thoughts to cling to. Thoughts like: There is more to this than we understand. This is probably the oldest thought, expressed in many languages and forms since time immemorial.
I won’t say that knowledge of the bible helps when people are dirt poor but the faith the bible imparts tells us that a life lived as though God is watching is a life that could be eternal. Quite a reach isn’t it? The fact that this is promised seems inconsequential when you’re hand to mouth surviving. At least, I would think this to be the case. It needs to be remembered that trials and even death is the wages of sin as told in the book of Genesis and death was not intended in the beginning. The earth is not the way it started out to be in the beginning either. It is far inferior to what was originally intended, created. Also stated in Genesis is that after Adam and Eve, however you wish to think about our original parents as of right now, sinned by eating of the forbidden fruit, God told them they would now have to work to eat and thorns and nettles would be in the earth because of that sin. Originally, this planet, it would seem, was also perfect and this makes complete sense as God is perfect thus anything He does is also perfect.
I know that this is a mouthful to comprehend if you’ve never opened the bible but I will tell you that it takes a comprehensive reading of that book to begin to have your eyes opened to the truh as we live in a world of lies, thorns and nettles. Even science is not immune to untruths and misinterpretations of our reality. They have computer drives full of data which they think is true and some, most, may be true. The understanding of this truth is what escapes them because this truth cannot be measured, as what once was is no longer. Read Genesis chapters one and two. More if you feel the urge. It won’t hurt you but it will make you think. You do like to think don’t you?
