There are a number of ways a person can approach reading the bible. For most of us, we have a certain concept of the bible and this concept can be positive or negative. The positive usually means a religious background of one type or other. The negative has to do with gossip or outright dark speech about the bible. We hear the dark side each day if we are not of a religious bent.
My approach here is that I have seen both sets of mind and also understand the weight of negativity that society imposes on those who believe in God and the bible as God’s word. I have heard, literally, hundreds of pundits, some in science, berating the bible out of hand. It is said by these that such events as the parting of the Red Sea by Moses is bunk and impossible by physical law. It had to be a different body of water or the wind on a certain day. In no way, shape or form do these account for God’s will.
Indeed, the negative individuals and groups that critique the bible in negative ways never account for God Himself. God created the universe and all that is in it. He set the physical laws Himself so that He would not have t pull strings to make it all work. What He created included the momentum and the physics that command orbiting, gravity, and what ever is the substance of space itself. Science’s job is to discover what God has wrought and how He made it all work. It is merely that scientists don’t know what they’re seeking due to the “Scientific Method” itself.
When you come here, open your mind not to the bible but to God. Take the leap of faith to just want to know more. If you approach the bible this way you will find yourself fascinated by the writings of that book. A prayer for understanding in any manner you feel comfortable with will help as God hears prayers of those who are trying to learn of Him. Yes, He will answer your prayer but you have to be aware when His answer arrives for you. It is neither miraculous or instantaneous, it comes at His chosen time.
The universe works on His schedule, not yours or mine. I write this this morning as I see a number of visits here. So, when you read the excerpts here ask of God for understanding. It will help if He is on your side. Either way, He knows of your interest. There is comfort in this for you.
