A question that many of us have asked both ourselves and others is why do good people suffer. All of us are sinful in nature. Our struggle is to do our best to overcome our sinful nature which is why th4e Bible has been given us as a guide to life. Know this is a large part of our stifling this nature and that can only be done by following the guidance of Jehovah. The Bible comes in to show us that this is not the way it was meant to be and, but for Satan, we would all be living perfect lives.
This is also the reason that Jesus came here to die for our sins. The original sin in the Garden of Eden is much more than an allegory, it is the truth of what happened as Adam and Eve were created by one who is perfect and perfection does not create imperfection. Therefore, the first man and woman were a perfect man and woman. This is why we understand that our imperfection was not meant to be.
The swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all.
Ecclesiastes 9:11
This quote tells us of our reality on Earth. It tells us that even the good, the mighty, the well of suffer. It is the human condition placed upon us by sin.
I was born guilty of error, and sinful from the moment my mother conceived me.
Psalm 51:5
All creation keeps on groaning together and being in pain together.
Romans 8:22
It is always a mistake to think that the “good die young” or that the wealthy are above it all. To seek out riches rather than adhere to what God has told us through Jesus and, thereby, the Bible is a mistake and takes us away from nothing. The human condition does not allow anyone to escape.
When I wish to do what is right, what is bad is present with me.
Romans 7:21
Even as I write this I have a back damaged in Vietnam combat and am in pain most days. I accept it as this is not going to be forever. I always try to remember that God and Jesus are with me as I go through each day. Then no matter what assails me, I know that I have that support and it sometimes is tangible though I don’t count on it. Prayer opens the door and allows me to receive healing of spirit and that alone keeps me going. Peace to you all.
